Product Update — June 2026

Over the past few weeks we've shipped four significant improvements to the Bloody Good Tests platform. Here's what's changed and what it means for you.

1. A dedicated home for your personal health results

We've separated the practitioner/clinic experience from the personal health experience into two purpose-built apps:

  • https://app.bloodygoodtests.com.au — the workspace for practitioners and organisations: ordering tests, managing clients, team settings, and admin tools.
  • https://my.bloodygoodtests.com.au — your personal health hub: your results, your tests, and your account, with nothing else in the way.

What this means for you

  • A cleaner, simpler experience. If you're a patient or consumer, your hub shows only what's relevant to you — your results and your tests — without clinic-management menus.
  • Move between the two seamlessly. If you're a practitioner who also has personal results, a new "My health hub" button lets you jump from the practitioner app straight into your personal hub without logging in again.
  • Same login, same data. Both apps share the same secure account and the same underlying records. Nothing about your data changes — only where you view it.

Also new in this release

  • Bring Your Own lab results. You can now import lab results from elsewhere into your hub, so all your health data lives in one place.
  • Smarter address capture. Account setup, settings, and checkout now capture your full address (including state and postcode) with type-ahead suggestions, reducing errors on your referrals.

2. Order Medicare pathology tests

Practitioners and clinics can now order pathology tests under Medicare through Bloody Good Tests, alongside the existing commercial tests.

What this means for you

  • Medicare ordering, end to end. When creating a test order, you can switch between Commercial and Medicare billing, choose the eligible tests, and we generate a proper Medicare-compliant pathology referral for you.
  • Mixed orders are handled automatically. If an order contains both commercial and Medicare tests, we split it into the right referrals behind the scenes and send them together in a single email — nothing extra for you to do.
  • Manage provider details once. A new Medicare settings area lets your organisation store each practitioner's provider number and a default practice address, so they're filled in correctly on every referral. Provider numbers are validated as you enter them.
  • Capture your signature securely. Each practitioner adds their signature directly in the app — drawn once and stored against your organisation — and it's applied automatically to every Medicare referral. A provider number can only be used to order once its signature is on file.
  • Prices step out of the way. When you're ordering in Medicare mode, pricing is hidden — because Medicare tests carry no direct cost to you.

Behind the scenes

  • Address and postcode handling was upgraded so referrals print correctly — including Northern Territory postcodes that start with a zero.

3. Redesigned, more reliable email notifications

We've rebuilt how we send transactional emails — order confirmations, verification links, results notifications, payout confirmations and more.

What this means for you

  • Better-looking emails. Every notification has been rebuilt with a modern, responsive design that works across devices and supports dark mode.
  • Consistent branding. Emails sent on behalf of a clinic or organisation now carry that organisation's branding correctly and consistently.
  • More reliable delivery. Emails are now sent through a dedicated delivery pipeline. If something goes wrong with an email, it no longer affects your order, your results, or any other action — and failed sends are automatically retried.

There's nothing you need to do — you'll simply notice cleaner, more consistent emails.

4. A complete history trail for your records

We've introduced audit logging for sensitive records such as referrals and profiles.

What this means for you

  • Every change is recorded. When a referral or profile detail is amended, we now keep a secure, time-stamped record of what changed and who made the change.
  • Stronger data integrity. A change is only saved if its history record is saved too — so the trail is always complete and trustworthy.
  • Privacy-first. Personal health information in these history records stays encrypted, and the history is only accessible to authorised administrators.

This strengthens our compliance posture and means we can always answer "what changed, and when?" for the records we hold on your behalf.

Building an integration? June brought Medicare ordering to the API (v1.1.0), referral editing, and more tolerant address handling. See the API changelog.
